Cooking For Crowds – Food Safety Training For Volunteers

The Maine Cooperative Extension is offering a Cooking for Crowds Workshop at the Hancock County Extension, 62 Boggy Brook Rd., Ellsworth, on Wednesday, March 27th, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. We strongly encourage all who are supporting our Community Lunch effort to sign up so that we can be sure we are doing all we can to provide a safe meal for our community! The deadline for registration is March 25th. The cost is $15(help with cost is available) and space is limited.
Learn to safely prepare, handle, and serve food for large group functions such as soup kitchens, church functions, food pantries, and community fundraisers. Workshop covers the following food safety guidelines:
- Planning and Purchasing
- Storing Food Supplies
- Preparing Food
- Transporting, Storing and Serving Cooked Foods
- Handling Leftovers
Can’t make it this month? An additional Cooking for Crowds workshop will be offered on April 17th as well.
