Through inspired generosity, together we will build a just world for all.

Your Gifts Make An Impact

What would it look like to be standing in a world that is just for all people and all creation?  What are ways we can work together to build that world?  How would you like to help?

These questions are at the root of the way we steward our First Church resources, and if they inspire you, we invite you to join us as a supporter and steward at First Church in Belfast.  There are many pieces to building a more just world for all.  We show up to life’s injustices and tender moments.  We work to provide the nourishment and care that people and the earth need to thrive.  We keep the lights burning, the Zoom running, the heat on and the leaves raked.  We prepare sacred spaces to celebrate, dance and sing.  We prepare sacred spaces to weep and mourn.  We prepare space for communion to be replenished together and ready to build again.  We commit to and practice taking care of ourselves and others so that we can do this work together.  Each of us can make an impact with our gifts.

Reach out to us if you would like to talk more about using your gifts to do the work of the First Church in Belfast together.

For Our Work

See our Serve Page for ways to support First Church’s mission to build a just world for all, together, with your time and talents.  Or schedule a time to speak with us about your gifts, and how you are considering sharing them.  To make a one-time or recurring financial donation, click the button below.

For The Future

The Friendship Walk leads from Church Street to the Gathering Place in front of the Church.  Bricks that line this walk may be purchased in individual names, for a family, or as a memorial. Businesses and organizations may also purchase a brick.  This is a special and lasting way to recognize someone or an organization for their special way of being in the world.  Donations help to support the maintenance of the historic First Church building and grounds for future generations.

For A Legacy

Together, we make something greater than any of us alone.  Click the button below if you would like to talk with a member of the Stewardship committee about including First Church in your estate planning, or if you are considering a gift to support a specific program or need within the church.

“I want my inner truth to be the plumb line for the choices I make about my life - about the work that I do and how I do it, about the relationships I enter into and how I conduct them.”

Parker J Palmer, Quaker

"Creator God, cultivate within us a life which proclaims your praise. Sow within us your love and compassion for our neighbors and creation. Nourish us always with the outpouring of your grace ... and lead us to tend a life that shares you with the world." – Pastor Joshua Fitterling

– Kason Espinosa

"You gave me blue and I gave you yellow./ Together we are simple green. You gave me/ What you did not have and I gave you/ What I had to give - together, we made/ Something greater than the difference." – Excerpt from the poem “When Giving Is All We Have” by Alberto Ríos, 2014. Shared during 2022 Stewardship Reflections by Judy Williams.
