Her daily Substack newsletter, Letters from an American, has some 1.5 million followers.

ABOUT HEATHER COX RICHARDSON: In addition to her work as a writer, Richardson is professor of 19th-century American history at Boston College. Her family goes back generations in Maine and she currently lives in the midcoast area with her lobsterman husband, Buddy.
