Senior College – Creating a Needlework Stitchbook

Creating a Needlework Stitchbook is a winter 2025 Senior College at Belfast course hosted at First Church in Belfast.

Participants will create a needlework stitch book with fabric and thread (or yarn ). We will discuss various forms of embroidery (embroidery, crewel, blackwork, etc.) and decide which stitches we want to learn for personal use.  Each class will focus on creating and practicing four or more stitches and experimenting with using them. By the end of this 4-week course, everyone will have a fabric book of stitches to use for future projects or to enjoy as a completed project on its own.

Materials needed:

• floss and/or wool threads – two colors
• assorted needles and threader
• hoop
• fabric for book
• scissors
